SDG Champion Award

 

We are thrilled to announce that the RIT Rural Foundation is launching the prestigious SDG Champion Awards, recognizing the outstanding efforts of young individuals in driving effective and measurable outcomes in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As an NGO dedicated to rural development and the promotion of sustainable practices, we firmly believe in the power of innovation and youth-led initiatives to create lasting change.

The SDG Champion Awards aim to honor and celebrate those remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions towards advancing one or more SDGs, tackling critical issues such as poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, climate action, and many others.

We are excited to highlight and amplify the inspiring stories of these passionate young champions who are leading the way towards a more sustainable and inclusive future. Their dedication, creativity, and tangible impact serve as a beacon of hope, motivating others to join the global movement towards achieving the SDGs.

Kushagra Shukla is pursuing B.Com. (Hons.) from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, where he is the President of the Centre for Green Initiatives and the Vice President of The Dramatics Society. He has been an all-around achiever in academics, debating, olympiads, dance, music, stage and street plays starting from the school level and is a winner of many inter-school and national level events. He believes in giving back to society. As a Mentor under the Desh Ke Mentor initiative, he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri. Manish Sisodia. Our foundation has greatly benefited from his contribution.

Medhavi yadav is currently pursuing masters in political science. She is graduated in political science honours from Delhi university. Her articles have published in newsletter and magazine on issues related to sustainable development and globalisation. She was also the organising team head in Girl up and a part of various women empowerment sessions including the ones in OXFORD university , UK as young representative from India. She was the climate councillor in ICCE for 1 year and Global Youth core team member in India Russia International Forum. She was the club leader at TGELF for introductory tasks on Sustainable development She had also interned in National Human Rights Commission .

Lipika Khatri has completed her graduation in Economics (Hons) from Rajdhani College, Delhi University. She was the Head of Public Relations of the Economics Department during the session 2020-21. She has interned with the Centre of WTO Studies, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. She has written several blogs and articles pertaining to achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. A co-authored article on the issue of sustainable agriculture has been published in the annual magazine of Asian Exporters Chamber Commerce and Industry. She is also working for the Rit Rural Foundation on a voluntary basis. She is an enthusiastic researcher with a focus on role of Indian culture in achieving the Agenda 2030.

Sparsh Mehta is currently pursuing his masters in Sustainability Science and an expertise course in Rural development.
He has done his graduation in Physics Honours from SGTB Khalsa college, Delhi University. He tendered his service in management cell of District level Cyclothon organised under Fit India Movement. His interest areas are seen in his research writeups on convergences of Ancient and modern Sciences and how they can help achieve sustainable development Goals . During the pandemic, he encouraged e-learning services through his contribution towards attaining the objective of ending digital divide as envisaged by NEP, 2020 and further achieving the targets of SDG4.

Deeya is currently doing graduation in Microbiology (hons) from Delhi University. Participated in environmental project and awareness programme on effect and causes of water pollution. Taught online and did research on hl tribal practices that align with SDGs and have keen interest in researching about Indian culture’s sustainable practices and how they along with new scientific innovations can aid in achieving Agenda 2030.

Sadhanjay Chakma is pursuing Mcom from Delhi School of Economics and completed his Bcom(Hons) from Sri Ram College of Commerce. He was the Creative Head of Sport Committee SRCC. He is also a general secretary of Delhi Chakma Students Union. He participated in U-19 State level football tournament twice during his school days. He also understand the social responsibility for which he is working to uplift the tribal artisan from Northeast India through his Startup.

Shivam kumar is pursuing his bachelor from university of Delhi in satyawati college in politics and English. He is a national football player and currently heading their college team as a captain. He is also a ncc cadet. He is working for his village for uplifting the lifestyle of his village people through sustainable development approach. He believes women empowerment and education is very very compulsory for their upliftment in the society and for being independent. He is also participated in marathon for the victims for the remembrance of road accident and won gold medal at a state level.

Anmol Jain is a 19-year-old sophomore pursuing Bcom Hons from Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi. He is an active member of Enactus Motilal Nehru College, a social entrepreneurship society that works towards 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. 
Anmol has contributed in reducing plastic waste in the environment and generating employment for the past 1.5 years. With his excellent communication skills, he understands and solves the problem of marginalized communities on the ground level. 
He is an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who is dedicated to making a positive change in society. His work in the field of social entrepreneurship and commitment to sustainable development is praiseworthy.

Harsh Patel is persuing LLB hons. From the prestigious Law faculty(LC-2) , University of Delhi. He was a domestic cricket player and headed his college team as a vice captain. He believes in gender equality and strongly opposes discrimination on any ground. He is also an NCC cadet. 
Right now he is preparing for judicial services and going to intern in the hon’ble Supreme court of India very soon.

Sahil Yadav has completed his graduation in B.Sc. Computer Science from Delhi University. Having developed keen interest towards India’s sustainable development agenda, he is now pursuing his Master’s degree in Sustainability Sciences. His major work areas include research on traditional Indian knowledge systems and ancient governance. He has also been involved in rural development initiatives such as technical training programmes for children, paving the way for future-ready India.

Pilla jahnavi has completed her graduation in Agriculture (BSC HONS) from GD Goenka University. She is certified as grade B soil and water testing lab analyst by PMKVY. She worked as a student researcher in KVK thuniki, Hyderabad as a part of the RAWE programme. She was awarded as the best performer of the batch in the RAWE programme for her active interaction with farmers. She has written articles on sustainable farming practices. She actively participated in farmer schools and field visits to educate and promote sustainable farming among farmer groups under response production SDG 12. She shows keen interest in the rural economy by achieving sustainability in agriculture.
