As a part of our Carbon Neutral Villages Initiative, Rit Rural Foundation has launched the Oxygen Forest project. So far, it has helped us tackle two challenges simultaneously - environmental degradation and the lack of jobs for marginalized sections in rural areas.

We have made a quantifiable impact thus far. Thousands of trees have been planted. Our team has integrated technology and planted trees using a GPS tracking system. This helps plant trees sustainably so that we maximize the benefits.

Rit believes that no effort is too small to be valued. So, for every attempt our farmers make toward sustainable farming, we reward them with certifications and carbon credits.

This project is more than just about the environment; it’s also about creating green jobs. And we have done tremendously well here, too. Through training in nursery management, women learn how to care for and grow saplings. Women-led groups are also trained to package eco-friendly and herbal products. They play a vital role in managing forests as well.

Our oxygen forest project has been a journey of growth, learning, and empowerment. We have improved the local natural ecosystem by sequestration of carbon and changing microclimate zones. Rit has not only paved the way for planting trees but also transformed so many lives along the way.
